Situation: On wireless-capable SonicWall devices running SonicOS Enhanced, devices connected to the WLAN interface are not able to connect to any devices connected to the LAN interface.

Problem: This is by design.  There is a firewall rule that prevents this type of traffic as a security measure.

Solution:

1. Log in to the web interface of the SonicWall.
2. Click “Firewall” then “Access Rules” on the main menu.
3. In the matrix view, click the icon that represents “From: WLAN to: LAN”
4. There will be a single firewall rule denying traffic from any service.
5. Click the pencil icon “Edit This Entry” under “Configure”.
6. Change the “Action” from “Deny” to “Allow” and click “OK”.
7. Test the connection – at this point it should work.
